To add some real front end protection I built a bull bar using 50mm ID schedule 40 pipe. Unlike most of the truck running around here with tubing as thick as muffler pipe that would crumple if it were to hit something large, the schedule 40 pipe isn't going to bend with out a lot of force. I bought an original Biddach bull bumper from Germany for my Volkswagen Westfalia Syncro and it was promptly bent and twisted the first time I hit some rocks with it. This one was built for full bumper area protection, headlight and fog light protection (install 1cm wire mesh) and tabs to install my Hella Rallye 4000 Rallye lights.
